Uniform Policy
It is our Kindergarten policy that all children wear school uniform when attending our school, or when participating in a school organized event outside normal school hour. We provide a complete list of the items needed for school uniform in our list in policy.
Our policy on school uniform is based on the notion that school uniform:
• Promotes a sense of pride in the school.
• Engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school.
• Is practical and smart.
• Identifies the children with the school.
• Prevents children from coming to school in fashion clothes that could be distracting in class.
• Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance.
• Is regarded as suitable wear to school and good value for money by most parents.
• Is designed with health and safety in mind.
• It encourages good self-discipline.
• Teaches children value of self-expression without depending on clothes or things being owned.
Girls can wear a pair of earrings only. If girls arrive in school wearing more than a pair of earrings, they will be asked to remove it. Our staff will not be expected to or allowed to remove any jewellery being worn by a child; this will have to be done by a parent/carer. Our staff will not, under any circumstances, take any responsibility for the safekeeping or loss of children’s jewellery.
We expect parents to support our Kindergarten uniform policy. Children should come to school in uniform every day unless there are special circumstances such as dressing-up or activity days or events.
Each child should have an extra set of clothing in their backpacks in case they mess up the uniform during the school day. Extra set of clothes should be kept clean and in good repair. Please label all children’s clothing so that if lost, it may be reunited with its owner. Unlabeled, unclaimed uniform may be considered the property of the school and donated, otherwise disposed of.
